Tottenham Hotspur Football Club, commonly called just Tottenham, is an English professional football club located in North London and currently plays in the Premier League. The football club nicknames are the Lilywhites or the Spurs. Grammar school boys that attended a bible class at All Hallows Church founded Tottenham Hotspur Football Club in 1882. Tottenham won the FA Cup twice and the FA Community Shield in the 1980s. It won the FA Cup and the Football League Cup in the 1990s. In 2008, it won the Football League Cup.

Tottenham Marshes was the club’s first stadium for six years. Tottenham moved to Northumberland Park in 1898 to accommodate the increasing number of fans. It only stayed there until 1899 due to 14,000 fans gathering to watch the team play Woolwich Arsenal. Tottenham moved only 100 yards down the road to their current stadium, White Hart Lane. Currently, there are plans for a larger stadium that will be built just north of the current stadium.

The team emblem is a cockerel that is standing on a football. Tottenham’s home colors are navy blue and white. All light blue is the away kit and black and green is the third kit.

Tottenham has a long time rivalry with Arsenalwho is a close neighbor. The matches between Tottenham and Arsenal are called North London derbies.
